The U/12’s were given a once in a lifetime opportunity when they were invited to play hurling on the hallowed turf of Croke Park last week. Munster GAA run a number of these activities and this year Kilsheelan-Kilcash were drawn out of the hat to compete in a hurling blitz. 22 players travelled and they played against Croom of Cork, Portlaw of Waterford and Bride Rovers of Limerick, doing themselves proud, playing in the County colours. However, the day was not about winning, losing or individual performances. It was a terrific day out for these children and the parents who travelled to support them. After the matches they had a tour of the Croke Park Museum. It was wonderful to note that Tadgh Lonergan, who began refereeing duties just a few weeks ago, was also on duty on the day.
We wish the High School well as they play Dingle in the Munster Final next Friday. We have a number of club representatives on the team namely Daire Brennan, Martin Gibbs, Kevin Kehoe, Paul Maher and Brendan Martin.
