At the AGM of the Senior Club there were plaudits all round for the achievements of the Junior Hurling team on winning the first Adult Hurling County Title and for Bill Maher who captained the Tipperary Minor Hurlers to All Ireland glory. The Chairman congratulated the players, mentors, and thanked everyone who supported or helped out in any way during the year. Following a long discussion, it was decided, due to lack of numbers, affiliation costs and fines for inability to field teams on match days, that no team would be entered this year in the Junior “B” Football. We will therefore compete in Minor and U/21 in both codes, Intermediate Hurling and Senior Football. Managers are in place for all teams except the Minors and it is hoped that this will be finalised shortly. Tributes were paid by Jerry Kehoe and Sean Nugent to James Holohan. We have many fund-raising initiatives, one of which is the Score Prediction which will be launched shortly. Membership is fixed at €40 for adult and €20 for Students and Minors.
The following Officers and Committee were elected: Chairman: Jerry Kehoe, Vice Chairmen: Dan O’Connor and David Power, Secretary: Keith Robinson, Treasurer & Co Draw Co-Ordinator: Michael Dempsey, PRO: Bridget Holohan, Co Board Rep: Jerry Kehoe/Michael Dempsey, Co Football Rep: Jim Healy, Irish Officer: Billy Stokes. Committee: Jim Cahill, Johnny Fitzpatrick, Meadhbh Freaney, Carol Gibbs, Jim Healy, Peter Moore, Noel Murphy, Shane Prendergast and Tommy Ryan.
U/21 and Senior Football training will begin next Saturday (19th) in the sportsfield at 3.30pm. We hope to see a full compliment of players present. If you need further information contact David Power, Jim Murphy or Liam Stokes.
