Under 13s: Our Under 13 hurling team had a good win against Cahir to qualify for the semi-final of the Christmas winter hurling competition. We got off to a good start with a point from Jack O’Donoghue and a goal from Senan Butler. This set the tone for the game and we continued to pile on the scores until half time when we led by 3-8 to 1 point. We kept up the effort in the second half to run out easy winners 5-11 to 1-2. Alex Hanrahan, Oisín O’Donoghue and Oisín Lavin were solid in defence. Michéal Freaney did well at centre back. David O’Donovan got two great scores. Ruairi Kelly and Billy O’Gorman showed great courage in their under 13 debuts. Emmet Butler (1-6) and Conor Neville (2-1) proved to be a good midfield combination. Jack O’Donoghue (0-1) was invaluable helping out in the middle third. Aaron Costin and Senan Butler (1-1) worked hard up front. Special mention and credit must go to Jake fFrench Davis who lined out for us even though he was ill.
