Under 14’s Our Under 14 hurling team played Mullinahone last Thursday evening at home. It was an important occasion for the team as we welcomed Daniel Lee and Stephen O’Leary onto the panel. We got off to a slow start but a point from Ben O’Connell after 7 minutes settled us down. This was the catalyst for a period of dominance. Great scores from John Carroll, Emmet Butler and Ben O’Connell had us up by two points at half time. Casey J. Coleman put in a Trojan performance in the first half at wing back. Our opponents started the second half with a goal and drove on strongly from then. We had no answer and could not take our scores when needed. Paul Brunnock played out of his skin at corner back during the second half. We tried hard until the final whistle but unfortunately went down by five points.
