Féile Weekend: Last weekend was a memorable one for our juvenile club and U14 panel. We hosted the Eoghan Ruadh Hurling Club from Dungannon in Tyrone. Their panel of 28 stayed with all our host families around the parish. They were a formidable outfit and ended up reaching the final of the division in Boherlahan on Sunday. Apart from being a friendly and good hearted group they gave us many great ideas and lessons in the way that they represented their club on and off the field and in the passionate way they went about playing the game of hurling. Great credit is due to Meadhbh Freaney who took on the gargantuan task of coordinating families and the logistics for the weekend itinerary and made it all look easy. Also thanks go to Catherine O’Brien who organised the new gear for the panel and to PJ Condon who was the Féile coordinator on the day. The tournament got off to a slow start for our Under 14s against Sallins from Kildare. Then we had a narrow loss to Grangemockler. We played our best game against our guest club, Eoghan Ruadh on Saturday morning, giving them a bit of a fright after they won their first two games easily. We put up a brave fight in the first half against De La Salle in the quarter final but eventually lost out. Primary Game: Congratulations to our Under 14 centre back Emmet Butler who represented his school Kilcash N.S. on the county Primary Game Team in the Munster Championship against Limerick last Sunday. Emmet is a teak tough, skillful and determined player who can always be relied upon to snuff out any attack and then give a clever pass to create a score from the half back line. He came through a series of four tough trials to earn his Primary Game Tipp jersey. Well Done Emmet!
