The AGM of the Senior Club took place last week. The disappointing attendance reviewed a very detailed Secretary’s Report. There were plaudits all round for the achievements of our Minor Football players and their Manager David on their historic All Ireland success. Other highlights were the Club winning the South Junior Hurling championship after a lapse of many years. The sportsfield also got a mention. Due to its central location it is in great demand by the many units of the association. We try to facilitate as many as possible, the goalmouths have now been re-sodded and it’s getting a well deserved rest. The Report also showed great concern for the lack of volunteers. There is no new blood coming through in administration, committee, mentors or indeed the day to day running of the Club and this is a worrying factor. The Chairman congratulated everyone who helped out during the year and also the Juvenile Club on their U/16 South Hurling title. Kilcash were also praised for winning five in a row South Titles as well as the County Title. In his Treasurer’s Report Michael Dempsey pointed out the importance of fund-raising over the next few years with our new Development. A major boost was the lucky win of €10,000 for the Club last month in the County Draw. We have many fund-raising initiatives, one of which is the Score Prediction which will be launched shortly for 2012. Membership is fixed at €40 for adult and €20 for Students and Minors.

The following Officers and Committee were elected: Chairman: Jerry Kehoe, Vice Chairmen: Dan O’Connor and David Power, Secretary & PRO: James Holohan, Treasurer & Co Draw Co-Ordinator: Michael Dempsey, Co Board Rep: James Holohan, Co Football Rep: Michael Dempsey, Irish Officer: Billy Stokes. Committee and Selectors will be finalised at a later date.

As a token of appreciation for their participation in the County Draw, a draw for five hampers was made and the lucky winners were: Tom and Ann Marie Morrissey Lisnatubrid, Declan and Noelle Denn Killurney, Martin and Mary Williams Ballinaraha, Eamon Phelan C/O Jerry Kehoe and Shane Geoghegan Ballinaraha. Congratulations to the winners and thanks to all of you for your ongoing support.

In 2007 the South Board celebrated their centenary with a publication of their History. This book is a mine of information. A limited number of copies are still available from the Club secretary.

Adrian Mc Guire, Eoin Kehoe and Bill Maher helped Clonmel High School to victory over Templemore CBS in the Tipperary Colleges Senior Football Final recently.
